Our
generation, simply put, is a generation on chairs. We are currently living in a
world wherein everything is being spoon-fed to us. From the information that we
need to keeping in touch with our friends and family, everything can be done
with just a touch of a finger. Whenever we want to contact our families or
loved ones, we just text or call them using our smartphones. Staying updated
with friends is now easier through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, among others.
To book a flight for a trip to the beach or a vacation outside the country, you
can simply order the tickets online and pay via credit card. To learn something
new, you can simply google it down and hundreds and thousands of results will
appear in less than a second. There are a lot of things that can be done with
just one click, all of which you can do while just sitting down.
However,
it wasn’t always this easy; the older generations definitely had it harder than
us. Without the internet, you have to drive all the way to the airport to book
a flight along with that heavy baggage along the way. They didn’t have the
luxury of simply clicking on their smartphones to communicate to their loved
ones. There’s also the challenge of keeping yourself updated as there was not
much social networking sites before, so you had to actually be with the person
to catch up with them. Then again, nothing beats being face-to-face with a
friend whom you haven’t seen in so long, or sharing actual moments with your entire
family.
Simply
put, there’s so much you can do while sitting down, but it won’t be enough to
match the fulfillment of being on your own two feet and experiencing what life
has to offer.
