Unfortunately, my family and I weren't able to go out of town or on a vacation during the semestral break. We just stayed at home and spent time watching movies together. Although there's the occasional Sunday trip to the mall and lunch in a fancy restaurant, it wasn't enough to satisfy my need for an adventure, especially after a very hectic and demanding first sem of my first year in UP. In order to give myself a break and to compensate for not going out of town, I spent most of my semestral break with my village friends. It felt good to see them, especially since I don't usually spend time with them when school starts because of my busy schedule. I made it a point to make up for the time I wasn't able to spend with them and so, we played basketball both in the morning and afternoon, we biked around the village trying to outrun one another, we played cards at night, and we even just stared stories until the wee hours of the morning. We were lucky enough to spend time with an old friend who we haven't seen in almost a year. Simply put, we were reunited at last. It may have not been as extravagant as a break can be, we may have not gone out of the village since we didn't have much money, but it was the way I wanted to spend my semestral break.
