Whenever I think about semester break I think
about all the things that I abstained from during the semester like playing
games, eating junk food, going to parties, and drinking soft drinks. Semester
break is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the things that I have craved for
the past 5 months; it’s the perfect time to visit the province and reconnect
with my family and friends who I even barely recognize anymore. Unfortunately, this
Sem break I wasn’t given the privilege to enjoy much of those things because
most days, I would spend it on training.
Before
the semester ended I decided to continue training over the semester break. I
trained everyday. Yes, even on the day of Christmas and New Year’s Eve. It was
a little disheartening to not being able to relax all day but at least I had time to bond with teammates and that I wouldn’t feel that I got slower. Actually,
the main reason why I decided to continue training over the holiday is because
of the upcoming Uaap season 78 in swimming. Last season, it felt good to win an
individual medal and place overall as the 1st runner-up but I bet
that the feeling of being crowned as the champion and winning a gold medal is
better. For me to contribute more to the team. This is what drives me to further improve myself and bring glory to
my school.
Even though
I wasn’t able to enjoy all the things that I have craved for, I think it all
went to a good cause. I think, what I significantly did during the sem break
was to try to better myself. I’ve have set my goals for this year and I will do
whatever it takes to achieve it.
