I decided to go here in Up, the best university in the country, but the downside of this was I am miles away from home. I am from Bacolod and leaving home was the hardest thing I did in my life. It had been 5 months since I visited my city and all I can think about was coming back and seeing my family. Being here in UP gave me the opportunity to be independent and stand up by myself. Don't get me wrong, it has been a hell of a journey going to school here. It has been really fun and I enjoy all of that. But still, nothing beats to coming home. It was Dec 15, 2014 when my brother and I went back to Bacolod. Seeing such familiar places and people reminded me what I've been missing when I decided to leave. Funny thing was that I appreciated those things a little bit more. In the sense that I was grateful to be home and see them again.
So, what did I do during the sembreak? I was home with my family doing absolutely nothing and it's okay. For me, it really does not matter what I did as long as I'm with the people whom I love and cherish the most. I was able to appreciate the simple things in life and it was the best sembreak I ever had.
