Sembreak
This academic year’s semestral break, started by the Lantern Parade and capped off with Pope Francis visiting the Philippines, lasted for about a month and was just in time for the Christmas season. The break, for most, is a time to unwind after four or five long months of studying, but anxiety and stress were still both present for me as I logged in my CRS account everyday to check if my grades have been released.
The first few days of my break I spent just at home to relax after several sleepless nights I had during the finals week, and I allotted the last week of year 2014 for several Christmas parties. Another year was welcomed and a few more weeks were left until classes resume again, which I spent either at home or for my driving lessons.
Aside from the annual gatherings where the whole family is complete, the Papal Visit greatly highlighted my semestral break and was a kickstart for my new year. My parents and I went to SM Mall of Asia to see the Pope where we had to battle traffic jams, a huge crowd and several hours of waiting in exchange for a priceless encounter with the vicar of Christ.
